Much like the unsung brilliance of 1970s rock, some of the era’s finest gear flew under the radar — and the Gibson T-Top humbucker is a perfect example. Though often overlooked next to its PAF predecessor, the T-Top helped shape some of the most iconic recordings ever cut, delivering a tone that’s unmistakably ’70s: crisp, punchy, and full of attitude.
 
With its subtle but meaningful design differences, the T-Top brought a tighter low end, more focused mids, and a glassy top that responded beautifully to the higher-gain amps emerging in that decade. It captured all the mojo, immediacy, and musical honesty that defined the era’s guitar sound.
 
After meticulously reverse-engineering a dead-stock set from a 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom, we recreated every detail that makes the originals special. The result is the Pariah T-Type — a faithful tribute with the clarity, punch, definition, and pure 1970s vibe players crave.
